What Is pH?
Potential Hydrogen (pH) Technically, the pH of pool water or any pH for that matter is a Logarithmic measure or scale of the balance between Hydrogen (H+) and Hydroxide (OH-) ions present in the water. Most of us already know the if the pH is low that water is acidic and conversely if the pH is high the water is basic or alkaline. Therefore, pool water with a pH of 6.0 is slightly acidic water, a pH of 7.0 is neutral and pool water with a pH of 8.0 is basic or alkaline water. For all those up and coming chemists, the equation is: pH= -log10[H3O+]. We do not want to dwell on the chemistry here; but, there is a point here to be made. As we said, the pH scale is a logarithmic scale. In other words, a pH of 6.0 is 10 times more acidic than a pH of 7.0 and a pH of 5.0 is 100 times more acidic than a pH of 7.0. You just need to be aware that a change in pH from 5.0 to 6.0, which initially seems like a change of only one, is truly a measurement change 10 times stronger.
Simply, pH is the measure of acid vs. base of a solution. Our solution is your pool water. Your objective in balancing your pool water is to find the proper pH level for maximum swimmer comfort and the effectiveness of the sanitizer you are using. First, you really do need to be familiar with the aforementioned pH scale so you may better know what is happening in the water when you make adjustments. When the pH falls below 7.0 neutral, your pool water becomes acidic. This means your water will become corrosive, aggressive to pipes, vinyl and plaster pool walls, metal components in heaters, pumps and filters. These components can become hurt and become corroded. Low pH water also causes skin and eye irritations, making the eyes look red and cause eye sting. So, the pool water sanitizer becomes excessively active which does reult in higher chlorine effectiveness, but it depletes and dissipates rapidly from the pool, which then increases chemical usage and cost.
High pH can also make problems of its own. When the pH value becomes too high (7.8 and above), the pool water has a tendency to look flat or dull. High pH can also cause skin and eye irritations. When the pH level becomes too high, pool sanitizers become less effective. This greatly reduces the sanitizer activity requiring much more chemical sanitizer to keep the pool water clear and safe.
The pH of the pool water has a fantastic effect on how comfortable the water is for swimmers. Your tears have a pH range of about 7.35 to 7.45. As mentioned above, when the pH strays too far away from this level, pool water becomes increasingly uncomfortable. Red, irritated eyes are an indication that the pH may be out of balance and should be checked and returned to balance.
Considering all of this, you will best meet your objective by keeping the pH between 7.2 and 7.6. This range combines the maximum swimmer comfort with sanitizer effectiveness.
ADJUSTING pH
The chemical control and balance of pH is relatively simple. To raise the pH of your swimming pool add pH Increaser (soda ash) to the pool water. So that you are aware, Sodium Bicarbonate does also increase the pH slightly. Do not use sodium bicarbonate (alkalinity increaser) to increase your pH. Sodium bicarbonate is to be used primarily to increase the total carbonate content or total alkalinity of the water. The Total alkalinity needs to at the right level in the pool water first, and then adjust the pH using pH Increaser. Soda ash and sodium bicarbonate are the most commonly used water balance products. These chemicals are both safe to add directly into the pool.
The addition of acid such as hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid) or acid salts (sodium bisulfate) lowers the pH in your pool. We recommend using pH Reducer in a granular form because it is effective and safe to handle.
When using pH adjustment chemicals, it is always best to add small amounts of chemicals over time, rather than large amounts at once. We recommend that when lowering the pH or total alkalinity that you do not add more than one quart of muriatic acid or one pound of sodium bisulfate per 10,000 gallons of water per 6-hour period. Retest the water after and add more if required.
TOTAL ALKALINITY
Total Alkalinity is the measure of the pH buffering capacity of the water’s ability to resist a change in the pH. The recommended range is 80-120 ppm. Pool owners must realize that Total Alkalinity (TA) is completely different from alkaline or basic side of the pH scale. They are, but related to one another for proper pH balance.
As mentioned earlier, a desirable pH range is between 7.2 and 7.6. Total Alkalinity plays a major role in stabilizing pH. When TA values are within the proper range, the pH becomes stable. The pH level will remain consistent without much fluctuation. When TA values fall below the recommended range, the pH is easily affected. Even a small amount of high or low pH adjustment chemical introduced into the water can result in large movement or swings in pH values.
Generally, when the Total Alkalinity is low, the pH will remain low too. This causes your pool water to be corrosive and irritating to swimmers. If the Total Alkalinity is high, small concentrations calcium hardness content can produce scale formation. Until the TA is lower, the pH will tend to remain high and treatment to lower the pH will be small lived.
You measure Total Alkalinity with a pool test kit, and for all practical purposes, the test result is equal to the measure of carbonates dissolved in the pool water. To adjust TA, you must adjust the amount of carbonates. To raise TA values, you will need to add Alkalinity Increaser (sodium bicarbonate). Sodium Bicarbonate has a pH of only 8.2 that will raise the TA, but has only a moderate effect on the pH of the water.
To raise the TA level, broadcast Alkalinity Increaser over the pool water surface or you should dissolve it into a bucket of water and pour the mixture evenly around the water edge of the pool.
Lowering Total Alkalinity is a bit more involved. You will need either Muriatic Acid or granular pH Reducer. Instead of broadcasting the acid over the pool or around the water edge as for pH adjustment, you must pour the acid in one spot or column at the deep end of the pool. This method causes a different chemical reaction in the water, which will lower the Total Alkalinity, instead of only reducing the pH level.
Lowering TA is a slow process and usually requires repeated additions of acid. We recommend that you do not add more than one quart or one pound of acid per 10,000 gallons of water per 6-hour period.

Now-a-days, the necessity of different vitamins has properly evaluated and assessed. Deficiency of any of the vitamins causes different diseases and affects our body.
Vitamins and minerals are substances that are found in foods we eat. Our body needs them to work properly, for our growth and development. When it comes to vitamins, each one has a special role to play. For example: vitamin D in milk helps your bones, vitamin A in carrots helps us to see at night, vitamin C in oranges helps our body heal if we get a cut, B vitamins in leafy green vegetables help our body make protein and energy.
There are two types of vitamins: stout soluble and water soluble.
When we eat foods that contain stout-soluble vitamins, the vitamins are stored in the stout tissues in your body and in your liver. They wait around in our body stout until our body needs them.
Stout-soluble vitamins are pleased to stay stored in your body for awhile — some stay for a few days, some for up to 6 months! Then, when it’s time for them to be used, special carriers in our body take them to where they’re needed. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are all stout-soluble vitamins.
Water-soluble vitamins are different. When we eat foods that have water-soluble vitamins, the vitamins don’t get stored as much in our body. Instead, they travel through your bloodstream. Whatever our body doesn’t use comes out when you urinate (pee).
Our body is one powerful machine, capable of doing all sorts of things by itself. But one thing it can’t do is make vitamins. That’s where food comes in. Our body is able to get the vitamins it needs from the foods we eat because different foods contain different vitamins. The key is to eat different foods to get an assortment of vitamins.
Vitamin A
This vitamin plays a really huge part in eyesight. It’s fantastic for night vision, like when you’re trick-or-treating on Halloween. Vitamin A helps us see in color, too, from the brightest yellow to the darkest purple. In addition, it helps us grow properly and aids in healthy skin. Various sources of A are milk fortified with vitamin A, liver, orange fruits and vegetables (like cantaloupe, carrots, sweet potatoes) ,dark green leafy vegetables (like kale, collards, spinach),etc.

Vital sources of B vitamins are whole grains, such as wheat and oats, fish and seafood, poultry and meats, eggs, dairy products, like milk and yogurt, leafy green vegetables, beans and peas etc.
Vitamin C
This vitamin is vital for keeping body tissues, such as gums and muscles in excellent shape. C is also key if we get a cut or wound because it helps us heal. This vitamin also helps our body resist infection. This means that even though we can’t always avoid getting sick, vitamin C makes it a small harder for our body to become infected with an illness. Vital sources of vitamin C are citrus fruits, like oranges, cantaloupe, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, kiwi fruit, sweet red peppers etc.

If we want to drink an additional amount of vitamin E, there’s a second caveat: our body may not absorb it. To know why, it’s vital to know that vitamins can be divided into two groups: water-soluble and stout-soluble. Vitamin C and the B complex group are water-soluble and can easily enter the bloodstream with water. Vitamins A, D, E and K are stout-soluble. That means they can only enter the bloodstream to carry out their functions if they are dissolved in dietary stout, like that found in a meal. An Italian study published by the American Heart Association in 2001 showed that subjects who took vitamin E for two weeks on an empty stomach increased their vitamin E concentration in blood small or not at all, compared to an 84 percent increase in subjects who took the vitamin E supplement during dinner. So unless we prefer vitaminwater to wine with our meal, vitamins A and E will pass largely unused into our city’s septic system.
Even if we were to absorb all the vitamins, vitaminwater might have distress living up to its image as a salubrious alternative to sugary soft drinks: Each bottle of vitaminwater contains 32.5grams, or two heaping tablespoons, of crystalline fructose. Fructose is a simple sugar that sweetens many fruits, although the crystalline fructose in vitaminwater is produced from cornstarch , not fruit, by crystallizing the fructose in fructose-enriched corn syrups. As one would expect, nobody needs these extra sugars, according to Nestle, the NYU nutritionist. One research team has even indicated that the intense sweetness of sugary drinks may be addictive.
“The way that vitaminwater is marketed and positioned it’s made to look more healthful than other sugary beverages, but it’s not – it’s still just a soft drink,” said Margo G. Wootan, Director of Nutrition Policy at the Center for Science in the Public interest. “It has this aura of healthfulness that is not deserved. Adding vitamins and minerals to junk food doesn’t make it healthy.”
About 35 percent of Americans are now considered medically obese. Two-thirds of Americans are overweight. Health experts tend to disagree about nearly everything, but they all concur that added sugars play a key role in the obesity epidemic, a problem that now leads to more medical costs than smoking.
A federal judge ruled that Vitaminwater will not, as its marks promise, keep you “healthy as a horse.” Nor will it bring about a “healthy state of physical or mental being”. Instead, Vitaminwater is really just a sugary snack food; non-carbonated fruit coke disguised as a sports drink. Because it’s composed mostly of sugar and not vitamin-laden water, judge John Gleeson held that Vitaminwater’s absurd marketing claims were likely to mislead consumers.
Coke tried to clarify away claims like “vitamins + water = all you need” as “only puffery.” The judge disagreed.

The alkaline pH diet promotes right eating habits, natural foods, combined with a clean and active lifestyle. The secret to maintaining excellent health is really all about maintaining our body’s pH balance. To know this more clearly, let’s first define the meaning of a balanced body pH.
Potential of Hydrogen – What is a Balance pH?
Scientific researches show that our cells need oxygen to survive. Cells need oxygen to make energy. When there isn’t enough oxygen available, our cells try to make up for it by fermenting blood sugar to produce energy. But, this method of producing energy can topple the body’s pH balance.
When blood sugar breaks down, it becomes lactic acid. The more lactic acid retains in our cells, the higher our body’s acidity becomes. Hence, instead of the normal pH level, more acid is retained which can cause hurt to our cells, tissues, organs and eventually our body systems.
In relation to medical studies, doctors have learned that cancer cells cannot survive in a balanced acid-alkaline environment. On the contrary, cancer cells thrive in environments where there is low oxygen and higher levels of acid.

A vitamin is an organic substance essential for life that regulates metabolism and assists the processes that release energy from digested food. Vitamin E, learned in the mid-twentieth century, assists in strengthening our immune systems and helps protect us from a variety of problems as well as several serious illnesses. This vitamin can be obtained from food or supplements.
There are two kinds of vitamins and both are needed by the body. Vitamin E, like vitamins A, D, and K, is a stout-soluble vitamin that can be stored within the body in fatty tissue. Vitamin B complex and vitamin C are water-soluble vitamins that cannot be stored and the excess amounts are excreted in the urine. Stout-soluble vitamins — with the exception of vitamin A are measured in international units (IUs), and studies by the U.S. government’s National Institute on Aging have shown that at least 200 IUs daily of vitamin E are needed to garner any significant benefits from taking this vitamin.
How Does It Help?
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects tissue against free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that usually contain oxygen and can interaction with DNA and other molecules leading to an impaired cell function. Vitamin E, one of the chemical compounds that prevents oxygen from reacting with other compounds, neutralizes free radicals, and is, therefore, one of the body’s natural defenses against cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Vitamin E is also vital in the formation of red blood cells and helps the body use vitamin K. Vitamin E improves circulation, is necessary in the repair of tissue, promotes normal blood clotting and healing, and can reduce scarring, too.
• Women find it useful in the treatment of premenstrual syndrome and fibrocystic disease of the breast.
Older adults take it to help reduce blood pressure, relax leg cramps, help prevent cataracts, and, perhaps, to help in reducing age spots.
Vitamin E also helps prevent anemia, maintains healthy nerves and muscles, and promotes healthy skin and hair.
Where Do We Find It?
Food sources of vitamin E are nuts (e.g., almonds), sunflower seeds, cold pressed vegetable oils, whole grains (e.g., wheat germ), olives, legumes, and dark and leafy vegetable (e.g., asparagus and spinach). There are also significant quantities of this vitamin in such foods as brown rice, cornmeal, eggs, kelp, milk, and organ meats. Some herb vitamin E sources are alfalfa, bladderwrack, dandelion, flax, nettle, and rose hips.
Vitamin E, like all other vitamins, is not only available from food sources, but also as a supplement. It can be bought in the form of a tablet, a capsule, or a liquid, and as a powder that can be mixed with water or juice or added to gels or bars. It can also be administered by injection. Read marks carefully so that you buy only those supplements that have been extracted from a natural food source and have no harmful additives included. A proper balance of vitamins are needed in the body because they work in synergy, or cooperative action, and high doses of one vitamin can induce a depletion of another. You can take vitamin E safely in a one a day multivitamin, or as single vitamin supplement if you wish to take an amount higher than is included in a multivitamin. How Much Do We Need?
The amount of vitamin E you need depends on your age, your weight, and the problems you are trying to solve or prevent. To maintain excellent health, you should take a minimum amount of 200 IUs daily.

To help combat coronary artery disease and poor circulation, take 400 IUs daily.
Be Careful:

We’ve all seen the wide spread dog food recalls, so it’s no surprise that more and more people are turning to dog health food. There are so many questions surrounding this topic so here’s a few common ones answered:
1. What Is Really Going Into Our Dog?s Food?
This is a really concerning question for many of us. There have been rumours and some of them sound too far fetched to be right, but what if they are? Some of the things that are place into most commercial dog foods could be seriously impacting on the health of your best friend.
One of the most common is a highly toxic preservative called ethoxyquin. This toxic chemical has been banned in human food for years but it seems to be ok to place it into our dog food. In dogs, ethoxyquin has been linked to allergies, immune deficiency syndromes and cancers of the spleen, stomach and liver.
Factory workers who have come into regular contact with ethoxyquin have exhibited side effects similar to agent orange, from hair loss and blindness to leukaemia. This is a pretty sobering thought when you fill up a bowl of dog food and tell your beloved dog to eat it all up.
But even apart from the chemical additives, there?s a lot of grain being used as a filler to add bulk to the food. Corn and wheat gluten which are useless by-products of human food production are routinely added. And it can be hard to figure out exactly how much of these fillers is really in your dog food. If you see two or three grains listed near the top of the ingredients list, it?s probably a sign that there?s a honest bit of filler in there.
2. Is It Doing Them Any Harm?
If you?ve read this far you?re probably aware that there can be some really nasty side effects from some of the common preservatives that are found on many commercial dog foods. The hard thing is that often it takes years for the most serious side effects to appear. This also means that unfortunately it might be too late to save them by the time symptoms become obvious.
Few dogs are born with a food allergy, but more and more they are developing an allergy or sensitivity later in life after years of eating discarded grain by-products. The effects of this can range from flatulence to excessive weight gain, and your dog can?t really tell you if they don?t feel well after they eat. Other signs can include lethargy and poor coat condition. Simply changing to the right food can add years to the life of your dog, as well as more energy and vitality.
3. Haven?t All The Terrible Ones Been Recalled?
Now you might be asking if all the really nasty batches of dog food have been recalled. While many deadly batches of food have all been recalled, that doesn?t mean that the rest are necessarily safe. Toxic preservatives are routinely added and food allergies can cause a huge variety of nasty long term health problems.
At the end of the day, we never know when there?s going to another batch of commercial food that has been contaminated with plastic that could mean the end for our best friend. Do really want to be at the sharp end of the next scandal when you reckon about what it could mean for your dog.
4. What Are The Alternatives?
You might be wondering what you can feed your dog when there are so many nasty additives in commercial food. Well first of all, I want to make it clear that not every food is going to contain all of these horrible ingredients. By looking closely at the ingredients list you?ll be able to get rid of quite a few well loved brands straightaway. Another thing to watch out for is fish meal, ethoxyquin is routinely added to fish meal so, unless it specifically states that it isn?t present, just don?t buy that food.
But, the only way to be completely sure of what is going into your dog?s food is to make it yourself. More and more people are taking this option. By giving your dogs some variety in their meals you can help to make sure that they live a long healthy life.
So making your own dog health food is a fantastic way to do the best by your dog and often ends up being cheaper too. Why not give it try and see what your best friend thinks of your cooking!

The degree of acidity or alkalinity of water is expressed as pH or potential of hydrogen, a logarithmic scale of the hydrogen ion concentration. Values range from 0 which is most acidic, most hydrogen ions to 14 which is most alkaline, least hydrogen ions. The neutral level is the point at which the hydrogen ions are balanced by hydroxyl ions in the water.
It is vital to appreciate that a change of one pH unit up or down equates to ten times the alkalinity or acidity respectively. The ideal pH level is slightly above neutral 7, but koi can acclimatize to levels between 6.5 and 8.5. They can cope with levels outside this range for small periods if the change is not too quick.
Large, rapid changes can be very stressful for the koi. If pH falls below 6.5, then the filter can be adversely affected, leading to further deterioration of water quality. The pH level can alter for a number of reasons. Provided you use a well buffered mains supply to top up and change water when necessary, most swings of pH will be due to photosynthesis or acid rain.
Koi and pond plants, including algae, take up oxygen from the water and give up carbon dioxide. This dissolves in water to become carbonic acid. During daylight hours, plants use sunlight to photosynthesize. They convert much of the carbon dioxide into sugars that are stored in the plant to help growth.
Less carbon dioxide means less carbonic acid and the pH of the plants and koi continue to produce carbon dioxide and pH falls which means it becomes more acidic. Swings of pH can be quite large, particularly if the buffering capacity of the pond water is poor.
Where pH is slightly lower than normal and a excellent mains water supply is available, carry out partial water changes to top up the buffer system. Buffer capacity can be measured by testing for carbonate hardness.

When you reckon of the B vitamins most people reckon of vitamin B6 or B12 or b complex which makes up the whole group. Vitamin B12 is the most widely known of the vitamin B group but B6 and b complex are starting to become well known due to the huge influx of people with vitamin B deficiencies. On average 1 out of 31 adults above the age of 51 have low vitamin B12. Even though vitamin B12 deficiencies are largely seen in the elderly populations, a study in 2002 found that 40% of healthy men and women had low levels of B vitamins. There are likely a large number of people who go undetected with vitamin B deficiencies.
The B vitamins are a group of water-soluble vitamins that play a huge role in the body. The group of vitamin B’s are essential nutrients to the body because they are involved in so much of the bodies metabolism. The B vitamins are responsible for cellular differentiation, transmission of nerve electricity, health of nerve cells, heart pulse rate, muscular contraction, digestion, brain function, thought processes, energy production, metabolism, maintenance of skin and muscle tone, enhancing the immune and nervous system functions, promoting cell growth and division, and DNA synthesis. Originally the B vitamins were thought to be one vitamin but were later learned to be a complex set of vitamins that coexist.
Although each individual vitamin has its own set of functions they work in conjunction to maintain the health of the human body. Each vitamin although specifically categorized within the B group also has their own chemical name ie. B12- cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin, B2- riboflavin, B9- folic acid. B vitamins are found in whole unprocessed foods such as meat, poultry, milk, eggs, and fish. Additionally B vitamins can be found in whole grains, potatoes, bananas, lentils, chili peppers, tempeh, beans, nutritional yeast and molasses. But, B12 is the only one of the B group that cannot be found in plant products. Lower levels of vitamin B can be found in processed sugars and flour, as well as beers, and energy drinks, but the effects from these products can cancel out the benefit of the B vitamins or even cause a net deficit of vitamin B within the body.
Vegetarians make up a part of people with B12 deficiency due to the lack of eating meat. Because of the huge number of people who are vitamin B deficient it is vital to know the reasons behind vitamin B deficiencies. Most people who have low levels or are deficient in vitamin B consume the proper amounts of the vitamin B’s. But, their stomachs have distress absorbing the vitamin because of reduced levels of stomach acidity or intestinal disorders. In addition a disease called pernicious anemia, destroys the stomach cells that absorbs vitamin B12. Heartburn medicines and ulcer medicines also have this affect on the stomach as well. Surgical procedures on the stomach or intestines can also lead to distress absorbing vitamin B12. Still there are other reasons for low levels or B deficiencies.
Stress plays a huge role on body functioning and is known for causing physical reactions within the body. Stress really causes vitamin B levels to deplete within the body and the longer stress is present the longer the body will be deficient of vitamin B. A poor diet that is filled with processed foods and refined sugar leads to lower levels of vitamin B. Ultimately a poor diet leads to malnutrition which can lead to more severe health problems. Also all the food we eat is cooked, baked, heated or fried which leads to the elimination of nutrients. Excessive heating can ruin essential nutrients in the foods that we eat. By eating more raw foods our body can get adequate amounts of all vitamins, minerals and nutrients. In addition drugs, both recreational and prescription medications deplete the levels of vitamin B. Toxic poisons and chemicals not only in the environment but through personal products can lead to lower levels of vitamin B.
It has been learned that initially there are no detectable signs that signify a lowered level or deficiency in vitamin B. Lowered levels of vitamin B can cause severe, debilitating problems within the body overtime. Unfortunately the first signs of deficiency are ignored, misinterpreted or diagnosed as something else. This includes signs of altered or diminished capacity such as fatigue, weakness, low energy and poor health. Overtime as the body goes without vitamin B more and more symptoms arise such as mental problems, heart palpitations, heart arrhythmias, fibrillation, indigestion, chronic fatigue, chronic exhaustion, paranoia, nervousness, feeling of uneasiness, simple agitation, frustration, insomnia, restlessness, tingling in hands, fingers and toes, rashes, crying spells, soreness all over, weight loss, cheilosis, sore throat, aggression, dermatitis, mental confusion, diarrhea, acne, paresthesia, anemia, depression, hypertension, impaired growth, peripheral neuropathy, memory loss, and many more. In addition to physical symptomology, diseases and illnesses are soon to appear including beriberi, scurvy, Wernicke’s encephalopathy, ariboflavinosis, pellagra, microcytic anemia, Multiple carboxylase deficiency, and Pernicious anemia. Furthermore with the lack of vitamin B the adrenal system goes into overdrive to produce energy within the body. If the adrenal system continues to work overtime it can become worn out or impaired causing the body even more severe problems.
If you have been diagnosed with lowered levels of vitamin B or a vitamin B deficiency then taking a vitamin B supplement is pertinent to avoiding problems within the body. Although, eating foods that are rich in vitamin B are better than taking a supplement in some cases supplementation is necessary. To raise your vitamin B levels it is necessary to take in at least 1000 mcg a day, which is near impossible to do with regular food. Dietary supplementation is necessary and there are several B vitamin supplements on the market including pills, tablets, capsules, and injections. If a medical doctor diagnoses you with a vitamin B deficiency, they can prescribe B12 or vitamin B complex in pharmaceutical grade. This is more potent than nutritional supplements because it is regulated by the FDA and has to go through a rigorous approval process. Vitamin B injections are more easily absorbed into the bloodstream. They are given once a week and are usually taken for the rest of your life. But vitamin B pills are just as effective as vitamin B shots. Question your doctor for recommendations on a brand of nutritional supplementation for vitamin B.

Often times there is not a fundamental understanding how cavities are formed and how they can be prevented.
So I want to take a moment and quickly discuss how a cavity is formed.
It all starts with a substance we call plaque. Plaque is sticky, invisible film that builds up on your teeth, between your teeth, on your gums, and under your gums.
Plaque can be removed by brushing your teeth and flossing and by your Green Valley dentist when you visit every 6 months.
If the plaque is left alone, it will combine with bacteria from the food you eat and beverages you drink and form an acid that eats away at your teeth.
Eventually, this acid can ruin enough of the tooth to make the dreaded cavity!
Again the simplest way to prevent this is by brushing your teeth and flossing and by having your Green Valley dentist clean your teeth every 6 months.
This makes sure that both the plaque and the food buildup are removed regularly so that evil acid can’t form.
If you do but get a cavity and don’t get it treated it can lead to an abscessed tooth.
For the average person, if you have an abscess, or infected, tooth, you will get in contact with your Green Valley dentist immediately.
But some of you out there are a small more strong willed and take drugs to minimize the pain just do you don’t have to go to the Green Valley dentist.
Let me tell you now, if you do that, things may only get worse.
The infection in your tooth can lead to an infection in your gums call Gingivitis, which I am sure you have heard of.
But did you know that Gingivitis can lead to a worse infection called Periodontitis which is significantly worse.
If you get Periodontitis, your gums may separate from your teeth and your teeth may become loose or out of alignment.
Then, the infection may travel to the bone that supports your teeth and gradually that bone will start to dissolve.
So although you might reckon you can live with the pain, things will only get worse if you don’t go to your Green Valley dentist and get it taken care of.

Our inner slide projector is our inner memory and our outer visions are what will come to be. What make’s this fascinating is how we store images and how our memory conceives them. We seem to see what we want to see and perceive things differently from person to person, particularly when viewing art.
A well-known anecdote that resonates this process concerns the use of visualization in scientific discovery. We question what does science have to do with art? The answer remains in the fact that perception; whatever genre or area of distinction determines our understanding and emotion for the piece or subject. German chemist Kekule von Stradonitz (1829-1896) learned the molecular structure of benzene a colorless liquid hydrocarbon that is derived from petroleum. In his narration Kekule described having dreamed of a snake twisted in a circle eating its own tail. Kekule had been considering the problem of the underlying structure of organic molecules. He then suddenly realized that the snake’s position in his image represented the key molecular structure he had been searching for. Without this vital imagery Kekule might not have come to a conclusion therefore visual imagery was of fantastic importance in his scientific findings. It proves that art is vital in both pleasurable roles and imagery in any respect.
Visual imagery played a crucial role in the Art of the Ancient Egyptians. The Hieroglyphs which are pictorials telling tales of everyday life are visual images at their finest. Although our eyes all see differently a common factor that we all share is the understanding of beauty. Hieroglyphs are some of the most gorgeous forms of art ever made. Art can teach us so many things in addition to the aesthetics; in Egyptian art we have learned mummification, religion, agriculture and my favorite the weighing of the soul. In this process the weighing of the soul is when the God Anubis would place your soul, which would look like a tiny unclothed person on one side of a scale and a feather on the other. The more distasteful things that you did in your life the more your soul would weigh. If your soul were as light as a goose feather you would journey into a pleased place in the afterlife. The visualization of this image in hieroglyphs is extremely moving and spiritual. It’s an vital part of history therefore an vital part of art.
Visualization and visual images such as art and sculpture are an integral part of the work of an Art Historian, Archaeologist or Psychologist because the actual seeing or seeing into. By using the eye as a slideshow one can achieve a distinctive role in analysis. Because of imagery, society developed an appreciation for things visionary, which would be the viewing of a painting recognizing symbols and understanding artistic values. Very often I wonder what it would have been like to live in a different time period. I reckon about everyday life activities, diverse fashion, transportation and amusement. I dream how wonderful it would be to passage ourselves in time even if just for a brief moment and experience what different periods of existence were like.
One way we can achieve this is with visual imagination. The trick is to transport your mind and spiritual being into another dimension. This is very often done through art and the power it possesses. The ability of expressing visual images reverts back to Prehistoric times, it also played an integral role in describing the life and everyday activities of people in Ancient Egyptian times. One might question, how can we possibly account for someone’s daily experiences dating back thousands of years? Well, the answer is through art and the glorious pictorials that were left for us.
The Ancient Egyptians blessed us with Hieroglyphs one of the greatest gifts the world has to offer. As a Professor of Art History my students are astounded when I introduce them to this documentary art called Hieroglyphs. Before viewing the pictorials my students fully contemplated what these pictorials held and why they were done but the transcendence of really seeing them in person drew them into a spiritual place and time they never thought they would encounter. It is their visual imagination that allows them to enter the art and tales of the Ancient Egyptians sacred religion, recreation, rituals and magical afterlife.
One of my favorite tales comes from my nephew, which of whom is a new addition to my family. Michelle is this remarkable young Egyptian man that was born and raised in Egypt, one day during a conversation he clarified to me how his backyard was quite different from those we have in New York City. As he started to describe where he played after school and as he got older where he played during school I realized it was among the tombs of the Fantastic Pharaohs. The tale took my breath away and sent chills up and down my spine. My visual imagination ran away from me and made me wish that just for a moment I could have been a small girl in that same situation.
When we visualize or process a work of art, a painting an artifact or hieroglyph we not only process the image we process the emotion that leads us to encounter this feeling. “American Physiologist Edmund Jacobson conducted studies which show that when a person imagines running a small but measurable amount of contraction really takes place in the muscles associated with running”. (The Psychology of Consciousness”, by R. Ornstein) Therefore we must know that our viewing of art is not only a visual experience it is a physical experience. Visual imagery is imminent to an explicit experience more so than a verbal thought, so whether awake or asleep a relaxed peaceful state advocates visualization encouraging us to experience and savor the wonderful gift of art. Allowing our body, mind and soul to enter a different dimension and time period is a pleased and healthy state of being and helps us amplify our visual imagination.
