Potential of Hydrogen – What is a Balance pH?
Scientific researches show that our cells need oxygen to survive. Cells need oxygen to make energy. When there isn’t enough oxygen available, our cells try to make up for it by fermenting blood sugar to produce energy. But, this method of producing energy can topple the body’s pH balance.
When blood sugar breaks down, it becomes lactic acid. The more lactic acid retains in our cells, the higher our body’s acidity becomes. Hence, instead of the normal pH level, more acid is retained which can cause hurt to our cells, tissues, organs and eventually our body systems.
In relation to medical studies, doctors have learned that cancer cells cannot survive in a balanced acid-alkaline environment. On the contrary, cancer cells thrive in environments where there is low oxygen and higher levels of acid.
When our pH is just at the right level, our cells can maximize their fullest potential so our bodies become stronger and more resilient against diseases. This is why people are encouraged to become aware of their body’s state of alkalinity and acidity.
Eating Right to Maintain the Right pH Balance
